Polyclinic

"At our polyclinic we ensure people keep access to primary care when NGOs are restricted to work in the refugee camps. With the clinic, we also make sure patients can receive the specialist follow ups they need, accessible and affordable at all time, with the sustainable and holistic approach we aim for."

More recently we have been expanding our services with our first fixed polyclinic, as we assessed an urgent need for diagnostic services and medical specialities in the communities we work in. In our new polyclinic people can receive specialist care from our paediatrician, gynaecologist, urologist, orthopediatrician and endocrinologist. Soon we wish to expand by adding a cardiologist to our team of specialists. To fill the gap of affordable diagnostic services, we are planning a project to expand and develop an in-house laboratory service.

"Volunteering within EMA association has been for me a very fulfilling experience. From a professional point of view, it has enabled me to learn a lot from the local team and especially to rethink about my practice as one has to take into account the different obstacles and issues people in the camps are going to face during recovery."
